With a range of both innovative and traditional dishes, plus an extensive drinks list, served in one of the country’s best pubs, this is a brilliant way to catch up with friends. Just like we did!
As a way of thanking us for our ongoing partnerships, The Highway invited the She Shopped team and a group of fellow professional women. This empowering afternoon was a great opportunity to discuss collaborations, learn from one another and chat about hot trends in content marketing – our passion! We also received beautiful blooms from Blossom Box. What a treat. And the best part? We got to do this whilst sampling the delicious new menu.
Thanks to the immense talent of head chef Damien Fong and sous chef Ashley Coad, The Highway’s new autumn menu elevates pub food to something truly special.
We loved the salad options that are ideal for the cooler months. Don’t miss the Hot Smoked Kingfish salad; this local, meaty fish is complimented by rocket, pear, beans, potato, radish and Spanish onion, with a creamy dill dressing. It was seriously good. We also devoured the Salt and Pepper Squid Salad, with crispy noodles, wombok, coriander, mint, soy and sesame dressing; tangy and crunchy heaven.
The mouth-watering Roasted Pork Belly hits the spot, with edamame beans, pea puree, jus and the most perfect potato gallette. We also loved the bold flavours of 36° South Scotch Fillet 300g, with smoked potato, parmesan grilled broccolini and red wine jus.
Vegetarians and vegans are also spoilt for choice. Options include the Roasted Cauliflower Salad, Brussel Sprout Spaghettini and the sweet potato and cannellini bean Vegan Burger.
The three pretty-as-a-picture desserts each taste as wonderful as they look. You will be hard-pressed to choose between Apple and Rhubarb Crumble, Cookies and Cream Trifle or the Malteaser Cheesecake Cup. Our suggestion? Try them all!
