Slo Moe’s | Mouth-watering ready to eat meals.

May 10, 2019 | Reading Time: 2 minutes

SLO MOE’S IS ALL ABOUT LOW AND SLOW – TRADITIONAL SOUTHERN-STYLE, WOOD-SMOKED BBQ MEALS THAT ARE READY TO EAT IN ONLY FOUR MINUTES.

I’m not a fan of the word ‘busy’ so let’s just say life feels very ‘full.’  As a full-time working mum of three boys, whose schedules can best be described as ‘spirited,’ I often run out of enthusiasm and inspiration come dinner time.  I’m known to rotate just a few simple meals, namely: spaghetti, roast and breakfast for dinner!

There’s undoubtedly no long hours free to create slow-cooked meat with exciting BBQ flavours. That’s why when Slo Moe’s contacted me with a mission to try their new range of Ready-To-Eat Meals I jumped at it!

Slo-Moe’s chefs have sourced a bunch of authentic American classic recipes – then took the flavours up a level by adding Moe’s traditional BBQ meats.  And not just any meats – they’re made with 100% Australian pulled pork, lamb, and beef.

These authentic southern style recipes are not something that falls into my regular dinner repertoire, so I was excited for my family to have a new food experience.  I was also pretty chuffed and slightly relieved that we could arrive home from tennis at 6 pm and be sharing a meal by 6:15pm – and that’s with breathing space. Slo Moe’s Ready-To-Eat Meals take just 4 minutes to heat, and they have a shelf life of up to 9 days.  That’s what I call 100% convenience!

We sampled all four flavours.  Louisiana Pulled Pork Gumbo melts-in-your-mouth, thanks to authentic American, 14-hour smoked pulled pork, with polish sausage and ‘swamp sauce,’ served with rice.  Cuban Beef Brisket Ropa Vieja is made with Slo moe’s signature American 14-hour smoked beef brisket and came with a side of rice. Campfire Beans with Smoked Brisket, combines Slo Moe’s, authentic American 14-hour smoked beef brisket, in a tomato and maple syrup sauce, served on a bed of creamy mash.  And last but by no means least, Slo Moe’s authentic American, 14-hour smoked pulled pork, with macaroni, parmesan, mozzarella cheese, and jalapenos – topped with golden panko crumbs. This one was a family favourite and is not hot at all.

The verdict was unanimous; these meals taste (and smell) amazing and offer time-poor foodies the chance to delight in flavours they might not ordinarily dip their crusty bread into – or don’t have the hours to try!
