This Melbourne Cup Day we are asking you to make a better bet each way by supporting Riding for the Disabled’s RDA Race Day presented by People’s Choice Credit Union.

Best of all making a difference to people living with a disability is easy. Simply celebrate Australia’s favourite day of racing on Tuesday 1 November by hosting a RDA Melbourne Cup Lunch with your friends, family or work colleagues and have a flutter in RDA’s virtual sweeps to help Riding for the Disabled keep people living with a disability in the saddle. The amount you can raise is only limited by your imagination – why not add a raffle or collection tins to your event?

Why are we so passionate about supporting Riding for the Disabled? After catching up with RDA participant Cassie and her mum Angela we discovered first-hand how RDA improves the lives of people living with a disability. Watch the video above to see how Cassie’s self-confidence and sense of wellbeing has grown thanks to the program – so much so she’s overcome her disabilities to a large extent and become a RDA volunteer.

It’s clear to see RDA has given Cassie an extraordinary sense of purpose and she’s not alone. RDA has been improving the lives of people living with a disability since 1972. 44 years on more than 3,000 trained volunteers and 800 horses provide services to 4,000 riders living with a disability.

So what are you waiting for? Trot to it and register your lunch by clicking HERE today. Just by registering your event and kick-starting your fundraising page with a $50 donation you’ll go into the draw to win a $600 Coles Myer Voucher for your lunch. Giddy up!

Not into horsing around on Melbourne Cup Day? You can still support the physical therapy and recreation that Riding for the Disabled provides for people with disabilities by purchasing a Pony Bank money box from your local People’s Choice Credit Union branch or making a donation online HERE.
