GOVERNMENT REBATES AND SUBSIDIES
The government currently supports the installation of residential solar PV systems and battery storage by making available the following rebates and subsidies:
SMALL-SCALE TECHNOLOGY CREDIT (STC)
These credits are calculated according to the wattage rating of your solar panels and can be used to subsidise the purchase price of your package.
The more watts the higher the rebate.
When calculating your solar and battery storage package prices RAA includes the benefit of any STC’s, to help reduce the upfront price you need to pay.
SA GOVERNMENT HOME BATTERY SCHEME
The SA government has created a $100 million, 40,000 home subsidy scheme to help with cost of installing home battery storage.
Certain eligibility criteria apply but RAA can help with this.
The scheme is linked to the available discharge capacity of the battery.
Subject to meeting the eligibility criteria, if you are a concession holder you may be entitled to a $600 per kilowatt hour (kWh) subsidy and all other households you may be entitled to $500 per kilowatt hour (kWh) subsidy, capped at a maximum of $6,000.
