What’s in store for the Port Adelaide Plaza development.

Port Adelaide is an area that is constantly growing, changing, and getting more exciting every day.  And one of those exciting changes is the $45 million dollar redevelopment of Port Canal Shopping Centre with stage one opening in April 2019.

The transformation into the new and improved Port Adelaide Plaza will see the rebuilding and extension of the existing Port Canal shopping centre, making it the most significant retail development in Port Adelaide in 40 years.

The Centre, which will be rebranded as Port Adelaide Plaza will provide a new level of convenience for Port Adelaide and surrounding suburbs offering over 50+ specialty stores including restaurants and cafes, services such as Australia Post, a medical centre, gym, childcare centre, and a brand new Aldi will open alongside existing retailers Coles, Kmart, Liquorland and Kmart Tyre & Auto.

The new Port Adelaide Plaza’s design will be of a contemporary nature and will exhibit an innovative style while still capturing the strong history of Port Adelaide.  Expanding to double its current size, the centre will become a more convenient shopping experience with everything under the one roof, plus increased car parking capacity to total over 1000 free car parking bays.

Stage one of the redevelopment will provide a unique dining precinct due for completion April next year with a focus towards contemporary café culture, burger concepts, Japanese and Asian fusion. Set under wide awnings, featuring alfresco ceiling fans and gas heating within close proximity to the water, this opportunity will no doubt appeal to small business owners, hospitality entrepreneurs and franchisees alike.

It’s great to know that it’s business as usual at Port Canal Shopping Centre during the redevelopment.

If you would like to be part of this exciting new shopping centre development there are still opportunities available. You can contact Development Manager, Michael Gillet.

We can look forward to hitting the stores at the brand new Port Adelaide Plaza, stage 1 in April 2019!
