The Once & Again Book Cafe is an absolute gem located in Plympton Park, Adelaide. The cafe manages to be light and airy, yet it is positively brimming with all things wonderful: pre-loved and new books on the topics of health, well-being, leisure and lifestyle; a range of beautiful gifts and artwork; great coffee and delicious snacks at reasonable prices. The cafe also plays hosts to a range of events and it participates in important initiatives to bring about positive changes to the local community. The delightful space

Founded by Judy Forbes, the Once & Again Book Cafe prides itself on offering a place of belonging, guided by the values of caring, community and connection. The cafe is an integral part of the local community, engaging with customers and local business to create a special place of belonging. Visitors are invited to help others through the wonderful ‘Suspended Coffees’ program. Quite simply, when you purchase a coffee for yourself you can pay for a second ‘suspended’ beverage. The money collected by the Once & Again Cafe for this additional drink is then distributed to local charities such as the Hutt Street Centre. Benevolence via the medium of coffee! There’s no finer way to spread compassion.

The Once & Again Cafe also participates in all employment programs, including the MatchWorks program which is helping to improve and enrich the lives of individuals through workplace training and employment. Recently, David completed a six month placement at the cafe where his excellent service and coffee making skills impressed many customers. David has grown in confidence thanks to this experience and he is now undertaking further training.

The Once & Again Cafe is home to many fantastic events that support local businesses, musicians, artists and authors: from SALA and the Adelaide Fringe Festival to mini-markets, fundraisers, craft classes, meditation and health and well-being talks. Don’t miss the upcoming mini-market on the 9th April from 10.00am until 2.00pm. Visitors will be able to purchase chocolates, plants, cards – just in time for Easter and Mother’s Day!
