The brand Binny was founded in 2008 by Belinda Watson. Inspired by her favourite life experiences and friends, Belinda’s range reflects her career evolution of designing for other brands and identifying a need for unique and timeless wardrobe pieces not driven by trend. The collection is defined by individual prints and interesting details.

Knit and Shirt

Binny has quickly established a following and refreshingly the typical wearer is not defined by an age bracket. The Binny woman has an appreciation of beautiful fabrics, flattering silhouettes and original design. She wants her wardrobe to reflect a point of difference.

The rise of Binny might not have happened so rapidly but for the influence of Nina Proudman. The label was a favourite of the star of Channel Ten’s Offspring. Fashion sleuths quickly established that Nina wore several Binny pieces in the last two seasons and feverishly coveted the unique prints. To this day Binny maxi skirts have a Nina cult following!

Fast forward to AW16 and the current Binny collection – the ‘Sport of Kings’. The luxurious collection was inspired by Belinda’s long association with the racing industry. The astute designer has used traditional colours and natural fibres such as suede, silk and wool, evoking the beauty of the horse and the romance of racing.

100% Marino Wool

Each piece in the range has been titled aptly with an equine term. The Barley Knit Jumper in 18gg Australian Woolmark Fine Wool is luxury at its best. The Picnic Races patchwork shirt has been popular thanks to the combination of broderie and checked cotton, complete with lace trim detail. The Roller Jacket is hard to resist – constructed from ultra-soft goat suede and fully lined in striped cotton.

Marino Wool

Binny can be dressed up or down, effortlessly taking you from Fleurieu to Flemington with a simple change of shoes. Invest in a Binny piece, or two now, and you’ll get so much wear from your new wardrobe favourites, for many seasons to come.
