When you think of Toyota, you’ll normally envision family cars and work vehicles, but the humble Toyota just got a whole lot sexier.
The all new Toyota C-HR has now hit the market, and She Shopped Founder Lucy Cornes and Automotive Expert Ben Finnis took a bright yellow one out for a spin thanks to Cornes Toyota.

With its sleek design and bold colour, neither Ben nor Lucy could believe it was a Toyota and were both suitably impressed.
With Alloy wheels, connectivity and a 5-star safety rating, the striking diamond-faceted exterior will turn heads while you sit in luxurious comfort inside. The large wheels and strong lower body styling give the C-HR plenty of lift, while hidden rear door handles and a sleek roof line creates a handsome side profile.
What Lucy loves about the Toyota C-HR
While Toyota have never been known for being left of centre in their design, Lucy is loving their jump to the left with this hot new model.
The shape is inspired by diamonds, and everyone knows diamonds are a girl’s best friend, so Lucy is convinced that’s why she loves the C-HR so much.
While the car would suit a young professional who wants to be noticed out on the roads, the C-HR has also been popular with the over 50s so it’s got something for everyone.
This car comes in striking colours. Lucy and Ben took out a bold, yellow one and were turning heads everywhere they went. You can choose from eight remarkable colours, ranging from the Hornet Yellow that Lucy and Ben drove, or a suave Ink. There’s also an option for two-tone; the C-HR Koba gives you the option to pair some colours with a black or white roof. Crystal Shine, Mica and Metallic Mica paint types add another dimension to the vehicle.
Despite its sleek lines, the Toyota C-HR has plenty of visibility. You’re also covered with a reversing camera, which is great quality
With a spacious and comfortable interior, Lucy felt right at home. The seats are finished in soft touch fabrics, with a leather trim in the C-HR Koba. The support from the sculptured front seat design matches the car’s awesome cornering performance. The 60:40 split fold rear seats provide excellent storage, too.
The Nanoe air conditioning deodorises the air, and reduces allergens and pollution. You could even leave a pizza in the car overnight and run the air conditioner the next morning and it’ll smell fresh as daisies. There’s dual zone climate control too, which is always a bonus.
You get a lot of car for $26,990 plus on roads. It’s really great value for this gorgeous looking vehicle that’ll stop people in their tracks.
Connectivity and Technology
Always a fan of good connectivity, the Toyota C-HR fits the bill for Lucy. Through Toyota Link, you can connect any smart phone, and you can find cheap fuel, check the weather, stream Pandora internet radio and much more through the 6.1” touchscreen display.
The handy Bluetooth connection will keep you in the loop, as will the satellite navigation. Of course there’s key-less entry ad ignition, reversing camera and 4 front and 4 rear parking sensors.
What Ben loves about the Toyota C-HR
The Toyota C-Hr is cutting edge. It’s a smaller, versatile SUV and will suit a lot of different lifestyles.
With a rigid frame, aerodynamics and a quality interior, Toyota has gone all out on this car. The C-HR is stylish, stable and efficient, and includes aerodynamic features like a roof mounted spoiler and shark fin antenna.
This is an incredibly comfortable car and the stitching on leather seats is beautiful. It’s a great looking car with plenty of features.
The new Toyota C-HR has a lot of height, which is great for visibility, and, with its sleek design, it has a bonnet you can see across. There is visibility all round; there aren’t many blind spots and the dash is wrap around, so it gives you full control at eye level.
From a safety point of view, this is great design from Toyota. With airbags all around, as well as lane control and its 5-star safety rating, Toyota have provided a car that is as safe as it is good looking.
Power and economy
At only $26,990 plus on roads, this car is great value. It’s powered by 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine and has good fuel economy giving you around 6.4 litres per 100 kilometres.
Ben’s verdict: Toyota is reliability. Toyota is safety. The style change of the C-HR is a style leader
Lucy’s verdict: The Toyota brand is trustworthy and this car is hot! Visit Cornes Toyota and take a test drive. You’ll be presently surprised.
