Lucy and Zoe recently attended one of the hottest events in town – the Balfours Bakery inaugural Dessert Supper Club! Held at Adelaide Oval’s Bodyline Bar, the event celebrated the release of the all new Balfours Chocolate Custard Tart.
Those lucky girls got to feast upon this delicious new addition, as well as all of the usual delectable treats from Balfours’ sweet range. She Shopped’s very own ‘Connoisseur of All Things Delicious’, Master Eddy Cornes, was also on hand to appraise the latest Balfours addition. His verdict? The Chocolate Custard Tart is very moreish!
Inspired by the iconic Balfours Custard Tart, this new 140g tart features the same rich, short crust vanilla pastry shell. It is filled to the brim with a new set-chocolate custard, adorned with a chocolate flake garnish and encased in Balfours’ signature tin foil. Available in South Australia and New South Wales, you can pick up a Chocolate Custard Tart for yourself at your favourite cafe or convenience store.
Balfours Bakery has reached the grand age of 165 years old and remains wholly South Australian-owned and family-operated. One of Australia’s oldest bakeries, Balfours’ products continue to be baked with pride and dedication to quality.
We love that Balfours Bakery’s proud history is entwined with that of every South Australian family – we’ve enjoyed the famous frog cakes for a childhood treat; party pies and sausage rolls at each birthday party; pasties at the footy; family pie plates shared for a Sunday dinner; Napoleon cakes for celebrations and picnics; hot cross buns and mince pies for the special times of the year. Balfours’ delicious and comforting range goes perfectly hand in hand with the best family moments.
