LEGO® fans rejoice, for Australia’s first store has opened on the Gold Coast and it is seriously cool!
Located at Dreamworld, with access from both inside and outside of the theme park, the LEGO® Store offers a dizzying array of products and awesome displays. It is the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere; home to almost five million individual bricks – that’s enough to fill two Olympic sized swimming pools! There are ten life-size Stormtroopers and a 7ft Incredible Hulk, as well as a Dreamworld inspired tiger, koala and didgeridoo, all made using (you guessed it!) … Lego!
The LEGO® Store employs 20 ‘brick specialists’ who will help you to select from over 400 LEGO® sets, including some of the newest and rarest available. There is something for all ages and abilities, from Duplo to LEGO® Technic. Visitors can also shop ’til they drop at the ‘Pick a Brick’ wall. Much like a pick ’n’ mix candy bar at your local cinema complex, this wall allows you to fill your cup with a selection of over one thousand bricks and other pieces. Get creative at one of the ‘Make your own mini-figure’ stations and have your favourite LEGO® engraved. We really love the cool merchandise that is available – Star Wars figurine key rings, the cutest LEGO® house pencil pot, a build your own piggy bank, a very complex Disney Castle set, LEGO® brick ice cube trays and LEGO® man cake topper moulds! Be quick to get your special someone a LEGO® rose for Valentines Day, or grab our favourite item – a make your own LEGO® Guess Who game!
The LEGO® Store is the first business to open in a new shopping precinct that is set to include a Kodak photography store, Jelly Belly jelly beans store and more food and beverages outlets. It’s the perfect addition to a day out at Dreamworld, or it can be visited on its own. The store is open daily from 9am to 6pm. It is an easy ten minute drive along the Pacific Highway from Warner Bros Movie World, and less than half an hour from Surfers Paradise.
