It’s time to fill your kettles, bake up a storm and get the tea trolley ready.. Gather your family, colleagues or friends together and help raise vital funds for Cancer Council, Australia’s leading cancer charity.  The official date for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is Thursday, 24 May, but you can host your event anytime throughout May and June.

Now in its 25th year, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is an easy and fun way to make a difference.  The funds that you raise will help Cancer Council to continue its work across every area of cancer; from research to prevention and risk, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and support for patients and carers.

Anyone can host a morning tea, it’s easy and fun!  Simply register online and you will receive a host kit with everything you need to make your tea a success.  Your Biggest Morning Tea can be at home with friends or family, a simple morning tea in the office with workmates, a gathering in the local community or at school.  If you are unable to host a morning tea yourself but still want to make a difference, you can donate directly HERE.

Your morning tea can be a delicious and healthy affair thanks to Cancer Council’s webpage dedicated to delectable, nutritious recipes.  Yoghurt cheesecake with fresh figs, vanilla and honey?  Yes, please!  Cakes, biscuits and pastries should not be considered everyday foods and it’s important to remember that one third of cancers can be prevented by making healthy lifestyle choices, such as being a healthy weight and eating well.

Did you know that one Australian is diagnosed with cancer approximately every five minutes, the length of an average tea break?  And here in South Australia, 26 people are diagnosed every day. At the moment, half of us receive a cancer diagnosis before the age of 85. But with your help, every minute, every hour, every day, we’re getting closer to a cancer free future.  Funds raised through Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea will help support Cancer Council SA’s life-saving cancer research, prevention, advocacy and support programs (like Cancer Council 13 11 20 Information and Support service) for people facing cancer.

It’s all made possible by the generosity of people like you.  Together, we can make a difference.
