Catching up with fellow content creator and blogger, Chelsea Thomas, of I Heart Bargains fame is always a treat. In June we headed to Australia Post HQ in Melbourne and had two days together learning all about Australia’s postal service.

It turns out there is much more to Australia Post than stamps and deliveries. Australia Post has been serving communities for more than 200 years and in the face of unprecedented global and domestic change, I got the impression Australia Post is committed to adapting to community needs as they continue to change.

I loved hearing about some of Australia Post’s initiatives in the regions, including the Small Business Hive in Geelong. The space allows Geelong’s growing community of entrepreneurs to get access to modern office facilities, plus an instant network of business mentors and like-minded locals.

Speaking of business, it was interesting to hear from the Australia Post Small Business team about MyPost Business. The first thing I did when I got home from the workshop was ask some of my friends who own eCommerce stores if they used the solution – I was met with a very enthusiastic yes!

My friends raved about the ability to pay and print their own postage labels, get parcels picked up from their home or office and track their parcels in real time with MyPost Business. It seems kind of fitting that the highlight of the two day workshop was a visit to the Australia Post Sorting Centre in Sunshine. For an avid online shopper like me it was fascinating to see how more than 300 employees and world class technology combine to get millions of parcels delivered to more than 11.6m delivery points across Australia. Wow!

Register for free HERE. Conveniently you can select your nearest Parcel Locker location – mine is in Brighton, in Adelaide’s south-west, just around the corner from my home. When registering you will receive your unique Parcel Locker Customer ID.

Shop Online

We know you don’t need much tempting, but now the fun begins – shop online. When you checkout simply use your Parcel Locker address as your delivery address, for example:

There is no need to be concerned about security. When your parcel arrives your name and Parcel Locker ID will be validated – then you’ll receive a unique secure access code via text.


When you arrive to collect your parcel simply key in your Parcel Locker Customer ID followed by the unique access code provided for this delivery and a locker door will open, revealing your parcel. Hurrah
