Summer means beach days, warm nights and lazy days, but for some of us, summer also means it’s tennis season!
And not just the fresh fierce competitors serving up some serious action on the court, either. It’s also a time for legends past and present to strut their stuff across the net.
The World Tennis Challenge is a fabulous three-night exhibition tournament here in Adelaide, where all-star players come to compete in preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open. The event attracts more than 14,000 spectators each year.
Held January (8th – 10th), the 10th edition of WTC will see former world number 1, Andre Agassi, return to Adelaide to hit the court and reclaim glory!
Placed into teams based on their nationality, the 2018 Legend, Singles and Doubles teams include two former world No.1 singles players, four former top 10 ranked singles players and four former world No.1 doubles players.
Team Australia (plus a bloke from Finland) is made up of: Mark Philippousiss, Thanasi Kokkinakis, John Peers and Henri Kontinen, while Team USA is Andre Agassi, Frances Tiafoe and Mike Bryan/ Bob Bryan. Team International is: Mats Wilander, Gael Monfils, Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares.
And if this star-studded field of competitors battling it out on the court sounds like something you need to be a part of, then you’re in luck!
